History of the Association	July 1990: Established “Tamba Town International Exchange Association”. The mayor of Hawkesbury and his wife attended the inaugural meeting. April 2006: "Kyotamba International Exchange Association" was established. February 2007: The Mayor of Kyotamba and the Mayor of Hawkesbury signed a sister city agreement. November 2020: Kyotamba Town and Kyotamba International Association concluded an “Agreement on Cooperation between Kyotamba Town and Kyotamba International Association”. (Assistance to foreigners in times of disaster)

Projects details

Role of the association	Through the promotion of multicultural understanding, or exchange with our sister city, we aim to contribute to the internationalization and development of local communities and to the creation of a better region for all.
Projects details	Our projects -Exchange programs and exchange student programs with our sister city -Programs to promote multicultural coexistence -Association management and PR activities to promote understanding of each program, etc.

Recruitment of committee members

Role of committee members	The Association is run by the General Assembly, the Board of Directors, committees, and the Secretariat. The functions of each are as follows: General Meeting The General Assembly consists of the members of Kyotanba International Association and is held once a year. The following matters are discussed at the General Assembly (1) Resolution of the budget and approval of the settlement of accounts (2) Determination of the association's projects plan and approval of the projects report (3) Amendment of the constitution of the association (4) Other matters deemed necessary by the President. The Board of Directors The Board of Directors consists of the President, Vice-Presidents and committee members. The Board of Directors discusses the following matters (1) Matters related to the execution of decisions made by the General Assembly (2) Matters concerning proposals to be considered at the General Assembly (3) Other matters related to the execution of association affairs that do not require a resolution by the General Assembly Committee The Committee consists of the Board of Directors. The Committee has a leader and a vice-leader. The Committee holds committee meetings as necessary to plan and implement projects. Secretariat The secretariat handles administrative and accounting work for the execution of the association's projects.

Membership recruitment

What is Membership?	We are always looking for new members to join our association, because having many individuals, corporations, and organizations become members and support us will lead to the activation of our activities and the widening of our circle of members. Types of Membership Individual membership: Annual membership fee = 2,000 yen per unit Corporate/Organization membership: Annual membership fee = 10,000 yen per unit Membership period One year from April 1 to March 31 of the following year. If a member joins in the middle of a fiscal year, the membership period is from the date of admission to March 31.

会員の皆さま、当協会の会員になることにご興味のある方のご参加をお待ちしております。

会の最初には、日本語教室の学習者による「わたしの国」の発表を予定しております。

Today we had a multicultural cooking circle activi

Today we had a multicultural cooking circle activity ‘Let's cook Vietnamese food’.

The first dish was fried chicken seasoned with dried shiitake mushrooms, sugar and salt, rolled in steamed glutinous rice and deep-fried. The Vietnamese word for ‘roll’ is ‘cuộn’.

The second dish is a vinegared dish made with sliced cucumber, carrot, nucumam, vinegar, garlic, chilli and sugar.

The third item is Đậu đen xanh lòng, a Vietnamese dish of boiled black adzuki beans with sugar, thickened boiled water and coconut milk. It can be eaten cold or warm.

The three people from Vietnam who taught us how to make this dish also told us that they rarely make it themselves, as the first and third items are more commonly eaten at restaurants or bought from street stalls than made by themselves.

We all had a great time learning about new Vietnamese food and culture.
The participants also gave us new insights into the cultures of other countries.

Cambodian New Year is from 13 to 15 April!
We would be happy if we could try Cambodian food in the future.

Thank you to everyone who participated and to the Vietnamese people who taught us how to cook.

今日は、多文化共生料理サークル活動「ベトナムりょうりをつくろう」を行いました。

一品目は、干しシイタケや砂糖、塩などで下味をつけた鶏肉を炒め、蒸したもち米で巻いて揚げたもの。ベトナム語で「巻く」は「cuộn」というそうです。

二品目は、スライスしたきゅうりとにんじん、ヌクマム、お酢、にんにく、唐辛子、砂糖で味付けした酢の物。

三品目は、ベトナム語で「Đậu đen xanh lòng」という黒あずきをゆでて砂糖と一緒に煮詰め、ゆで汁にとろみをつけたものとココナッツミルクを加えたもの。冷やして食べても温かいままでもおいしいです。

作り方を教えてくれたベトナム出身の3人もあまり1品目と3品目は自分で作るよりレストランで食べたり、屋台で買う方が一般出来だそうで、自分で作ることはほとんどないそうです。

新しいベトナムの料理や文化を知り、みんなで楽しいひと時を過ごすことができました。

参加してくれた方々から他の国の文化についても知ることができ、新たな気づきもいただきました。

カンボジアのお正月は4月13日から15日の3日間だそうです！
今後、カンボジアの料理にも挑戦出来たら嬉しいです。

We organise a multicultural cooking circle activity every two months with the aim of learning about different cultures and deepening mutual understanding while having fun through cooking.

This time, we cook Vietnamese food together.
The most famous Vietnamese dishes are pho and spring rolls, but this time we will learn how to make chicken rice, vinegared cucumbers and Vietnamese sweets from Vietnamese people living in Kyotamba town.

Date: 22 February 2025, Saturday
Time: 10am-1pm.
Place: Cooking room on 1F of Chuou Kouminkan
Capacity: up to 20 people
Participation fee: 500 yen

私たちは、料理を通して楽しみながら異文化について知り、互いに理解を深めることを目的として、2ヵ月に1度多文化共生料理サークル活動を実施しています。

今回は、みんなでベトナム料理をつくります。
ベトナム料理で有名なものはフォーや生春巻きですが、今回は鶏おこわ、きゅうりの酢の物、そしてベトナムスイーツを京丹波町に住むベトナムの方に教えてもらいます。
